Some of us LOVE cruising, and we'd like to get more of our friends and family to try it too! Virgin Voyages clearly understand this, as they have come up with a unique idea for inviting your favourite people on a cruise with you.
The question is, have Virgin Voyages gone a step to far, or are they riding the Wave of AI (artificial intelligence). Whilst this fun idea will certainly get your attention, do you feel comfortable with this technology?
You can see the Virgin advertising video here.
Virgin say "we’ve created our next Jen(eneration) AI with Jennifer Lopez, so she can customize an invite for you to help get your crew together for an epic getaway."
The campaign centres around Virgin staff using the technology, competing to make the best video. This is enticing you to have a go yourself.
So, obviously, I had to give it a go. I found the webpage quite slow. In fact, it crashed my Chromebook and I had to restart it. After I worked my way through the pages I was asked to provide my email to get a copy of my AI invite. I have to admit, I was quite excited to see the end result. So was it as good as I thought it would be?
What do you think? I invite you to my custom voyage. Let's eat, party and relax.
Well, sorry Virgin, but not particularly what I expected. You asked for my name - but you don't mention it. You asked who I'd invite, but you didn't mention them. The video advertised the activity choices I had chosen, but it wasn't really tailored, as I'd expected.
So it's a nice twist and gets people talking and sharing. But the final result did not float my boat!
